Fifth Grade Socks

Part of Waldorf school curriculum is handwork class, where all students learn creative and practical skills like knitting, crochet, sewing and woodwork.  Many handwork teachers teach sock knitting in fifth grade.  Below are socks knit by my 11-year-old son last spring.

Students in his class hand dyed the yarn as well. They used worsted weight yarn and US size #6 needles.  I plan to post a similar worsted sock pattern soon.
