Every year in many Waldorf schools, and perhaps other schools as well, there is a flurry of activity that begins in the fall. Parents begin to craft hundreds (and sometimes thousands) of handmade items to be purchased by children to give as gifts, to be given out by King Winter or a Pocketeer, to be handed out after a trip through the Gnome Cave, Winter Wonderland, etc.
